Take a look at this picture of a 3d printed lens.

It's yet another advancement in 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping to enjoy. IPF are the UKs leading 3d printing service provider and specialise in producing rapid prototyes using our range of 3d printers which includes the Objet Connex500, Eden350v and Perfactory 3d printers. 3d printing clear lenses

In this 3d printing example, the lens on the right is a 16 micron layered build from the Objet Eden350v, it's had the support removed but apart from that it's had no finishing.

The 3d printed lens on the left has received some finishing but it took just 10 minutes, no more! Working the surface back with varying grades of wet & dry, the final paper from 600 grade. Then using a good old fashioned buff polisher gently mopping the surface to a level of clarity from a 3d printed Rapid Prototype that's rarely seen.  Clients use us time and again for our attention to detail and precision finishing of 3d printed prototypes.

Sure the lens is as good as flat to the surface of the diagram but take a closer look at the following picture.

3d printed lens, lifted to show the ultra clear finish

We've lifted the lens off the surface and there's little or no reduction in clarity.

At IPF, we think this new Objet resin has the potential to open up a number of applications from medical prototyping or small run manufacturing to automotive and architectural 3d product development.  The ability to produce glass like transparency is a major breakthrough for 3d printing and IPF can bring this to you right now.

VeroClear Key Points are

  • VeroGray based formula delivering outstanding dimensional stability
  • Visual simulation of PMMA
  • Great for fit and form testing and final product can be clear for visual requirement
  • Ideal for automotive, cosmetics, consumer goods, consumer electronics, toys, medical devices and dental applications

Call Gary, IPF's Head of Rapid Prototyping and 3d Printing now to discuss your application.

Established in 1969, IPF have established a reputation for first class customer service and the adaptation of advanced technologies.  This means we can provide cutting edge 3d printing and rapid prototyping technology as a service, so you don't have to make a large capital investment in expensive equipment.

The advantage is clear.
