IPF will primarily use their sixth CNC machining centre for the milling /routing of engineered plastics (PTFE Acetal etc), plastic sheet materials (Perspex, polycarbonate, ABS etc) and free issue plastic components. The M8 has been configured with vacuum plates and a high flow vacuum pump for holding small and large components without the need for job specific vacuum plates.
The M8 features a steel bridge reinforced with polymer concrete for superior stability and a 3kW, water-chilled 60,000 RPM spindle for feed rates up to 20 meters per minute. A vibration-dampening, polymer-concrete machining table provides 1016 x 762 work area, we also have larger machines with a working area of up to 3050 x 2050mm. The M8 has been fitted with an automatic tool changer, tool- length sensor and a z-correction probe.

DATRON's integrated Z-Correction Probe recognizes irregular work-piece topography and compensates for it dynamically. It does this by taking measurements along the surface of a blank and feeding that data into the machining controller. The controller automatically adjusts for uneven surfaces or work piece position. Through this process, job setup times are reduced and piece/part rejection is minimized.
