COC Machining – Precision and Durability

This very new material is now being leverage for applications where other materials such as acrylic could not perform. Cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) is utilised by IPFL for many medical and pharmaceutical applications as well as diagnostics and scientific analysis.

 

COC stands out with its high heat distortion temperature, approximately 30°C higher than acrylic (PMMA). This makes it perfect for applications requiring thermal stability. Despite its robustness, COC maintains a level of optical clarity comparable to PMMA, which is essential for precise imaging and analytical applications.
