What are Imaging Phantoms?

Imaging Phantoms are medical scientific devices, used to test and calibrate systems and methods for imaging the human body such as; X-Ray, MRI and CAT scanning systems. Used on a regular basis for medical imaging to evaluate, analyze, and tune the performance of various imaging devices, ensuring they are fully calibrated before being used on a patient, for safety and image quality.


IPF are experienced in CNC Machining and Fabricating of Medical Imaging Phantoms since 1969, using the latest CNC technology to produce an extremely high specification and tight tolerances ensuring they produce reliable and measurable information.


Usually made from PMMA and polystyrene, as their material properties simulate human tissue to assist in the setting, and calibration for certain forms of imaging and radiotherapy.
