PTFE

What is PTFE?

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), often known asĀ Teflon, is well know for its low surface coefficient which makes it ideal for many industrial and medical applications. Along with its high chemical resistance, PTFE is very thermal stable. It can also be produced in filled grades, like glass or carbon, to improve its mechanical properties.

Properties

  • Low surface coeffient
  • High chemical resistance
  • Thermal stability
  • great ductility and elongation

Why machined PTFE?

Applied in many industries through industrial, food processing and scientific, IPF customers have found PTFE to be one of the many materials which we can produce high quality parts from. Where durability, surface wear and thermal stability are required this would be an ideal choice from the many materials we offer a service with.
